At Paine Manwaring we are very keen to help support our local community in any way we can.
That’s why, when the opportunity to sponsor a skydive in aid of the amazing children’s charity Chestnut Tree House came up, we ‘jumped’ at the chance…. And we persuaded a member of our team to join in too!
Chestnut Tree House is a children’s charity providing hospice care services and community support for children and young people with progressive life-shortening conditions throughout East and West Sussex, Brighton and Hove and South East Hampshire.
Recently we received an email from one of their supporters, Dan Bowley, who is organising two events in 2019 to help raise vital funds for the cause.
Dan said: “In October 2017 I did a 10,000ft skydive for the British Heart Foundation after my dad had a heart attack. As soon as I had touched ground I wanted to go straight back up so I’ve left it a while and decided that 15,000ft was the way to go, (I’ve been told this is the highest you can go in the UK).
“Doing a challenge like this only seemed right if I could get a few people together to raise some money for a great charity, I have chosen Chestnut Tree House in Arundel, as people I know have worked closely with the charity. The work they do with terminally ill children and their families is amazing and they rely a lot on donations and fundraising”.
Joining Dan and a group of others on the skydive on Saturday 1st June 2019, is our very own Contracts Director James Preston.
James said: “I did a skydive 18 years ago and to get the chance to do it again in aid of such a massively worthwhile charity, that does so much for families in Sussex… well, how could I refuse! Please sponsor me to take the leap by visiting my Just Giving Page and pledge as much as you can!”
At present around £2000 has been raised in total for the event by nine jumpers, but they are hoping that this amount will turn into much more.
