Education Case Study – Bohunt School

Bohunt is a secondary school with academy status, located in the village of Liphook, Hampshire.

When construction firm W Stirland was appointed by the school to build a new three-storey Sixth Form Centre, they contacted Paine Manwaring to handle the necessary mechanical and electrical services.

The huge project took 16 months to complete. It involved the provision of 22 classrooms, a learning resource centre, cafe, social area, prep room, toilets, offices and stores. Externally, a new access road and car park was also constructed, as well as a new pedestrian bridge providing access to the building at first floor level.

Mechanical and electrical services were required for general teaching spaces, a science classroom and music / drama suites, while the project also included renewable energies in the form of a PV solar panel system on the main roof.

The impressive new Bohunt Sixth Form building now occupies the site of two redundant tennis courts and sits at the heart of the school.
