Our team take great pride in providing plumbing, heating and electrical services for homes and businesses all over Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire. And, when the project we are working on is one as important as Stonepillow, it gives us an even greater sense of satisfaction.
Stonepillow is a local charity that provides a lifeline for homeless people with hubs, hostels and supported accommodation at locations throughout West Sussex.
It offers shelter, information and support to empower homeless and vulnerable individuals to make positive changes in their lives and aims to create a safer environment that promotes social inclusion with practical assistance and without prejudice for all.
The Paine Manwaring team recently worked on the Stonepillow site in Ellasdale Road, Bognor Regis, on behalf of Brighton based, Goldcrest Contractors Ltd.
Over a seven month period, the job involved the removal of the existing mechanical & electrical services and the provision of new mechanical & electrical services.
This included gas boilers, new heating, ventilation, hot water, cold water, gas, drainage, sanitaryware, automatic controls, wiring, lighting and power.
The existing building is currently in the process of being refurbished and extended. Facilities now provided include a communal kitchen, lounge, dining area, laundry & needle exchange, while individual bedrooms have en-suites and disabled access.
Tony Farhall, the Paine Manwaring Contracts Manager involved in the project, said: “When you work for a local charity it’s usually easier to see the impact that your company’s joint team work has achieved for others and this can bring a huge sense of satisfaction. The feel good factor that you get from contributing to an organisation that is helping society is very rewarding”.
The newly refurbished facilities will be open to help the homeless from June-July 2018.
