It is important to the team at Paine Manwaring that our clients enjoy the benefits of the best heating products on the market, in addition to high quality service from our boiler engineers.

As such, we drew on our engineers’ many years of experience and came up with our recommendations for the best boiler of 2019. Our criterion is simple: value for money and excellent functionality.

Our team rate Worcester boilers because they hardly ever malfunction. It looks good when the boilers we help to install work beyond their guarantee. However, if this boiler does go wrong and you need a new part, you will find replacements are cheap and quick to be delivered.

Worcester boilers are available in gas, propane and oil fuel types. This means a choice of the boiler that best suits you and your circumstances.

First, the regular boiler is perfect where there is more than one bathroom. However, they also offer combi boilers, which are compact and suitable for smaller facilities, as you don’t need a hot water cylinder.

If you have greater hot water demands, then you can also choose the system boilers. This offers a promise of constant hot water, even if you have multiple bathrooms all being used at the same time.

As a nod to the quality and efficiency of Worcester, the Greenstar combi boiler has been named the most efficient boiler of 2019 by Energy Star. It received an AFUE rating of 95% – you literally can’t expect better than that in today’s market.

Worcester, established in 1962, has a wealth of experience in boiler production. The company became part of the Bosch group in 1996, so you can feel assured that a huge corporate infrastructure supports the manufacture of these boilers.

Vaillant is a large company, employing over 13,000 people worldwide. They have a turnover that would make most companies blush with delight. We would recommend Vaillant boilers for many of the same reasons as we recommended Worcester boilers. The cost of the spares is cheap, and they are easily attainable. However, the likelihood of your Vaillant boiler breaking down and needing repair is more remote than most other brands.

The test of a good brand is the confidence they have in the product they manufacture. Vaillant has just introduced a new 10-year guarantee. They feel so sure that their boilers will keep going and going that they are willing to assure you that you will enjoy hot water without additional maintenance cost for this time.

As with Worcester, Vaillant offers the choice of regular, combi, and system boilers, with many choices of size and fuel.

Of course, there are other brands of boiler that deserve a nod: Baxi, Ideal, Glow Worm, Viessmann, and Grant – all worthy of mention.

However, if you want the best mix of reliability and affordability, then you will do well to choose a Worcester or a Vaillant for your home or business.
